We stayed in Whistler Village and skipped the hire car

We took the scheduled coach from Vancouver airport and stayed in Whistler Village. After the flight, not having to collect a car or drive the highway was a relief. From our apartment we could walk to breakfast, both main gondolas and dinner, so we never missed having a car.

There were three of us at quite different levels. We skied the first hour together, then split up and met at the same lodge for lunch. Naming the exact meeting place mattered because “at the gondola” was far too vague. We also left one afternoon free, which became useful when visibility was poor higher up.
